About

A score for the senses, bringing comfort & connection to your table.

Gerry’s journey into the culinary world is as rich and nuanced as the dishes he loves to prepare. With a background that blends artistry and academia—holding a business degree from King College and a music degree from UTC—Gerry’s multifaceted talents extend beyond the kitchen. His love for food was sparked early, inspired by his mother’s home cooking and a family legacy of catering. His great-aunts, cooking in tiny kitchens, showcased the power of resourcefulness and skill, leaving an indelible mark on him.

In 2016, Gerry formalized his passion by earning a culinary certificate from Virginia College. He then honed his skills in catering, focusing on classical French techniques and serving businesses. While Gerry never worked in traditional restaurant settings, his hands-on approach and dedication to scratch-made meals distinguish his craft. He steers clear of mass-produced or industrialized food, preferring instead to source ingredients locally and in season, including weekly visits to a nearby farm for fresh, sustainable produce and meats.

For Gerry, cooking is akin to working in a darkroom—a creative, almost meditative process where he carefully crafts meals that reflect his love for hospitality. He finds immense joy in cooking for friends, neighbors, and anyone who values a personal touch. His culinary ethos centers on creating intimate, memorable dining experiences with an emphasis on quality and authenticity.

When he’s not cooking, Gerry’s artistic talents shine in other ways. He also cherishes time spent at his family’s historic property on Lookout Mountain in Mentone, Alabama, a place steeped in memories since 1939.

Gerry’s dedication to his craft, hospitality, and artistry makes him a standout in the personal chef world. He’s committed to serving meals that not only nourish but also celebrate the stories and traditions of those he serves.
